We always love sharing new-found artists with you. These colorful creatures adorning our newest mugs are painted by watercolor artist Tiffany Heiser. Her artwork is a loving tribute to many threatened and endangered ocean and wetland animals.

Here’s a little more about artist Tiffany Heiser: Born in the farm country of southeast Ohio but growing up in the beautiful Gulf-coast regions of Florida, Tiffany found herself surrounded by nature at every turn. Her family frequented the river-laden and beach-heavy landscapes, instilling, although subtly, a profound love of the plant and animal life in her midst. For over 18 years, Tiffany has cultivated a dual calling: watercolor artist and art educator, using the vibrancy of visual storytelling to inspire change and compassion. Her artwork centers on nautical life—dynamic creatures rendered in vivid washes of yellow, red, blue, and burnt umber—each piece meticulously layered to achieve luminous depth and complexity. Framed against white backgrounds, the subject matter is given space to breathe, allowing the viewer to connect intimately with marine life often overlooked. Guided by a deep respect for aquatic ecosystems, Tiffany’s work urges responsibility toward our environment. Through brush and pigment, she champion cleaner waters and a more empathetic world. This commitment extends into the classroom, where Tiffany empowers emerging artists to recognize the potential of their creativity—not just as personal expression, but as advocacy for those whose voices might not always be heard. “It is my fundamental desire to focus my attention on the natural world in my art. I employ a scribbling technique with my brush and Japanese watercolor paint, Kuretake. I use multiple layers of watercolor, in my attempts to capture the subject matter’s natural complexity. Taking advantage of the compositions negative space, I often choose to emphasize the subject’s richness by presenting it on a stark, white background.”
